Over the last few years, my events went from being booked a few months in advance to anywhere from 7 months to 14 months in advance. Since we just began the 2011 Wedding season, we’ve had back to back successful events since the first week of March and thus have begun receiving phone calls for NEXT YEAR! Don’t miss out on an opportunity to have yours truly rock out at your upcoming Wedding.

So I’ve been approached by many people this past year about learning how to DJ. In order to learn how to do some of the tricky stuff I do, you need to have a proper foundation. I’ve thought it over and I’m going to present the opportunity to those who are interested to learn some DJ fundamentals this summer. Of course I myself am still constantly learning new tricks so I won’t be showing you anything that I wouldn’t be able to pull off without perfection.

If you’re interested, do comment below and let me know your thoughts on the idea and if you’d be interested. If you’re feeling shy, feel free to email me at djinsomnia@djinsomnia.com.

A proper pricing outline will be constructed if I see enough interest for summer classes.

All e-mails will be kept confidential.

Last night was a monumental moment for myself and the rest of my Premier Entertainment crew! I DJeyd my first celebrity wedding alongside my MC, MC Guru. Held in the heart of NYC, we had a blast playing for an intimate crowd that was NOT shy at all on the dancefloor. It was a high energy crowd which I could feed off of so well, being able to play a wide variety of music (Hip-Hop, Top 40, 80s, Disco, Rock, and of course BOLLYWOOD!)

Reshma Shetty is well known for her part as Divya Katdare (Yes, the last name was derived from her hubby!) on the USA Network big hit, Royal Pains. She was also the female lead in a touring company of the musical Bombay Dreams in 2006. Yours truly had the honor earlier this year in taking part in a special interview with the lovely bride as she asked me all kinds of questions about Wedding DJs and how to go about selecting yours. I believe she made the right choice! 😉

Deep Katdare is best known for his 2001 iconic role as Krishna Gopal Reddy in the generation defining film, American Desi. He was also in the musical Bombay Dreams where he played the part of Vikram, a lawyer who represented Bombay’s underprivileged.

The two met on the set of Bombay Dreams and they soon were engaged to each other and my oh my, what a beautiful wedding it turned out to be.

Special thanks to Premier Entertainment’s own Darshan Kapadia as well as our good friend Vishesh Sharma for making this all happen. It was an honor to be a part of this Wedding and we appreciate all the love we received from the crowd.

Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Katdare!

Til next time,
DJ Insomnia
